There are two types of players when we get to September: those who rise to the occasion, and those who crumble under the finals pressure.

For the superstars of the competition, there is an expectation that they will rise and deliver for their clubs in September, but that is not always the case, with many players crumbling when faced with the challenge.

Now with a spot in the Grand Final on the line, there are five players firmly in the gun, in need of a major performance in this weekend's Preliminary Finals.

A week is a long time in football for Charlie Cameron.

After managing just one kick in Brisbane's Qualifying Final against Sydney, Cameron exploded for five goals and 13 score involvements in their Semi Final win over Adelaide just seven days later.

Against Sydney, Cameron was matched up on the quick Sam Wicks, who battered him at the contest and never gave the two-time All-Australian a chance to breathe.

Cameron was able to beat his matchup in the Semi Final, but now has the physical Blake Hardwick in his sights.

Hardwick, who is widely regarded as one of the elite stoppers in the game, will relish the challenge of a Cameron matchup.

Brisbane, with their backs against the wall, can't afford another lacklustre Cameron performance in a final, so the forward must do some damage early to get himself into the match.
