While players, coaches and umpires often steal the spotlight, cheer squads are the volunteers who work tirelessly to help create the atmosphere that makes the AFL special.
Dedicated volunteers spend countless hours creating banners, cheering their hearts out and supporting their club through the rollercoaster that is a season.
While every club has volunteers working behind the scenes, these cheer squads stand out. One thing is certain: AFL cheer squads are the heartbeat of the game as they travel across the country and stand behind their clubs through the highs and lows.
Here is the ranking of AFL cheer squads:
6Carlton
Carlton's cheer squad is among the AFL's most outstanding. They are recognised for their loyalty to their club through the highs and lows. They have an admired passion for Carlton. They are also known for some cheeky banners, such as "Carlton thanks Dom Sheed", referring to Sheed's famous grand final goal against Collingwood. Pies fans probably haven't forgiven them for that one.
