The 2026 trade and free agency period is done, but there is no rest for the wicked in the AFL.

List managers and recruiters will already be doing the groundwork on next year's uncontracted stars, trying to lure them to their respective clubs.

And 2027's list of uncontracted players and free agents is eye-catching.

Here at Zero Hanger, we have listed the 14 biggest names that head into next season with only one year remaining on their deals, and the clubs that will be eyeing them off like a lion with a gazelle.

Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera

Arguably the biggest player movement watch of 2027.

St Kilda will be wanting NAS to pen the dotted line early in the season, but this has all the signs of going deep into next year.

Wanganeen-Milera is one of the best and most damaging players in the league, and his talent is such that he sits in the 'name your price category' alongside the likes of Nick Daicos, Zak Butters and Sam Darcy.

The 23-year-old won't reach free agency status next year, so St Kilda would (understandably) ask for the world for him in a trade.

Given he is from South Australia, his signature is down to a race between St Kilda, Adelaide and Port Adelaide.

He will likely want to wait and see how much growth the Saints can produce in 2027 before making a decision on his future.

Potential suitors: Adelaide, Port Adelaide
