Tasmania has confirmed help for VFL coach Jeromey Webberly in 2026, signing three local assistants to the club.
The Devils chose homegrown coaching talent and former Richmond Tigers midfielder Webberley as the senior coach for the VFL side, and have welcomed local coaches Adrian Smith, Trent Baumeler and Beau Sharman to the club.
Webberly explained the reasoning behind signing the trifecta was to cover all areas of the state, as well as their exceptional coaching nous.
"We were really keen to get assistant coaches in each area of the state to take ownership of the regional hubs," he said.
"It's about their talent as a coach, the experiences they've had, and making sure we have the right skillset between the four of us."
Smith has been coaching at North Launceston since 2012 and took the reins as senior coach in 2024, guiding the Bombers to consecutive flags in the TSL and NTFA.
Baumeler was named the coach of the year in the Tasmania Football League in 2021, and took the Kingborough Tigers to a flag in 2023.
Sharman launched his coaching career as an assistant at Devonport Football Club before taking the helm as senior coach at Wynyard, where he led the team from 2020 to 2024.
The Devils have also made a huge dent in their playing list ahead of the club's return to pre-season.
Former AFL players Robbie Fox and Jye Menzie head a group of football prospects, including Caleb Mitchell and Cameron Owen.
VFL star Hugh Dixon has also signed with Tasmania.
The club is also working on attracting former Collingwood champion and coach Nathan Buckley as its senior AFL coach when the side is introduced in 2028.
