Sydney is likely to welcome back three of its prime movers this weekend, with Errol Gulden and Tom Papley headlining the potential ins.
The pair have had long injury layoffs, with Gulden not sighted since the 2024 Grand Final, while Papley has only managed three games this year.
The Swans return from the bye to face Port Adelaide in South Australia in 13th position, with their season hanging by a thread.
But the inclusion of Gulden, Papley and the suspended Joel Amartey could be the fire-starter Dean Cox needs.
"They look really good," Mills said.
"They trained really well. They've had a great block, and I think it'll be up to match committee now. Hopefully, they'll have a good week of training."
Oliver Florent and Ben Paton made strong cases for a senior recall in the VFL a fortnight ago.
Aside from last year's preliminary final, Port Adelaide, historically, has held a strong advantage over the Swans, winning nine of their past 10 encounters, including the 112-point drubbing at Adelaide Oval in Round 21 last year.
"Extremely tough contest," Mills added.
"They're really tough to play at home, and we're looking forward to it. It's a challenge we're going to lean into.
"Potentially (we'll have the Round 21 clash in mind), but I'm sure they might have the prelim in mind as well.
"Both teams, I'm sure, have a bit of emotional ammo to work with, and that's the best part of footy. Leaning into those things and enjoying it."
Port Adelaide won the most recent clash at the SCG earlier in the year, prevailing by eight points in Round 6.
Sydney's chances could be aided by injuries to Power stars Aliir Aliir (knee) and Jason Horne-Francis (shoulder), who were both sent for scans on Monday.
The club's injury report will be released Tuesday evening.
