Sydney will unveil debutant Caleb Mitchell in Sunday's clash with Richmond at the MCG.

The Victorian has been confirmed as an addition to John Longmmire's Round 3 plans, with the teenager breaking through for a maiden performance after a strong start to his 2024 campaign in the VFL.

Mitchell recorded 30 disposals and a goal last week against Coburg in the Swans' VFL season opener, with his strong outing coming after a year of promise last season.

Across 14 games in the VFL last year, Mitchell averaged 14.3 disposals, 3.7 marks and 1.8 tackles per game.

The Yarrawonga product was drafted to the Swans in 2022 as the 40th overall selection in the count, noted as a promising outside runner for Vic Country and the Murray Bushrangers.

Mitchell, who will be Sydney's first debutant of the year,  will be one of at least two inclusions after Harry Cunningham and Sam Wicks were withdrawn from Longmire's side that faced Essendon last week.

The Swans will finalise their squad at 5:00pm (AEDT) on Friday, with their eight-man interchange to be reduced to five players.

With Micthell's inclusion confirmed, the Swans will decide between Matthew Roberts, Robbie Fox, Braeden Campbell, Corey Warner, Peter Ladhams, Jacob Konstanty and Aaron Francis for their remaining four bench spots.

Sydney will travel to Melbourne this weekend to face Richmond at the MCG on Sunday at 4:00pm.
