Sydney midfielder Chad Warner is keen to stay at the Swans for 2027 as he misses the remainder of the season through a club-imposed suspension.
Warner is one of the Pullman Five of Isaac Heeney, Nick Blakey, Riley Bice and James Jordon who were suspended for behaving in an unprofessional manner after the club's Round 23 win over Essendon.
Four of the players (excluding Bice) are currently under police investigation for an incident involving an alleged sexual assault at the Pullman Hotel on the same night.
Previously, Sydney has expressed doubt over whether the five players would return to club post their rest of the season suspensions; given the serious nature of the alleged offence.
However, Code Sports is reporting that Sydney is now keen for Warner to return to the club for 2027 and that the 25-year-old is eager to come back the Swans.
Warner had attracted strong interest from West Coast to return home to Perth for the 2027 season and beyond; pending the results of the investigation.
But Warner now appears certain to stay at Sydney where he is contracted for one more season.
Blakey is seen as the most likely of the five to move clubs.
It has been reported that Blakey was disgruntled with the club even prior to the Pullman Hotel incident and considered a trade to Gold Coast last off-season.
What makes matters difficult for Blakey is that he is contracted to the club until 2031.
The publication is also reporting that Sydney is eager for Heeney, Bice and Jordon to return in 2027.
