This latest prize comes off the back of the Canberran collecting his second All-Australian blazer earlier this month, as well as the AFL Players’ Association Robert Rose Most Courageous Player Award.
Steele now joins 28 fellow Saints in winning the award on multiple occasions, with his fellow engine room comrade Seb Ross acting as the most recent name to join the company of titans such as Tony Lockett, Nicky Winmar and triple Brownlow medalist, Ian Stewart.

The former Giant would have required a helping hand to carry all of his trophies away from Linton Street, as the first-year skipper also took home the fan voted Sainter of the Year award and his fourth Crest Award - a prize bestowed upon the player that best represents the club's values.
Having finished in equal third position during last season's Brownlow count, Steele's seasonal averages of 29.2 disposals, 8.4 tackles and 6.3 clearances across his 22 appearances should again see him in contention for the game's top prize this Sunday.
The Belconnen Magpies junior also finished 2021 with the strongest goal face return of his career by slotting 13.8 during his drifts forward of the ball.
Despite his dominance, the consummate Steele saw fit to leave awards for his red, white and black contemporaries to claim, with Sinclair seen as the Saints' Best Clubman and blossoming forward Max King deemed the club's Best Emerging Player.
