1. WAFL

No matches in the WAFL this week due to the state game against Victoria, however, there was still plenty to cheer about for Western Australian fans.

Victoria 10.11 (71) def. by Western Australia 20.14 (134)

WA put in a dominant display to knock off Victoria. It marks the end of a 113-year losing streak against the best of Victorian state teams.

Despite kicking with the breeze, the Big V could only manage a two point lead at quarter time. From then on Western Australia controlled the game. They kicked 17 goals across the next three terms and ran away 63-point winners.

Ben Saunders dominated up front for the visitors, kicking six goals. VFL representatives Jodan Lisle, and Sam Switowski both kicked two.

Ben Saunders was awarded the Simpson Medal for best on the ground from the WAFL, while Tom O'Sullivan took home the same accolade for the VFL, the Frank Johnson Medal.
