Nik Rokahr became the first player to win both the Sandover (WAFL) and Margarey (SANFL) Medals.
On Monday, the Norwood star won South Australia's most prestigious individual award in a landslide count, claiming 38 votes to top the night. Sturt Blues gun and reigning winner Tom Lewis came second with 23 votes.
It's the highest tally under the 3-2-1 voting system since 1976, when Port Adelaide's Russell Ebert earned 42 votes in 21 matches.
Rokahr polled in 15 of 18 games.
Rokahr's efforts follow an incredible season for the Swan Districts in the WAFL in 2024, where he was a joint winner on 19 votes, sharing the honours with Claremont's Callan England.
He received clearance ahead of the 2025 season to join the SANFL club, which has paid dividends.
Originally from the Shepparton Bears in country Victoria, Rokahr joins his great mate and Redlegs' teammate Harry Boyd (2024) in winning the Magarey Medal.
He was named rover in The Advertiser SANFL Team of the Year, Rokahr's outstanding campaign was also reflected in him winning the R.O Shearman Medal as voted by the coaches, The Advertiser Player of the Year Award and the SANFL Now Player of the Year Award.
The 2026 achievements may not end there for Rokahr, with Norwood awaiting their opponent in the grand final next week, with Sturt and Woodville-West Torrens to face off in a preliminary final.
