Frankston star Jackson Voss has finally secured a train-on spot with Hawthorn after years spent dominating in the VFL.

The 25-year-old Voss has long been on the cusp of the AFL, but has never made it onto an AFL list. This summer now looms as his greatest chance.

Voss will train with the Hawks over summer in the hopes of landing a supplementary selection period spot, according to Code Sports.

The powerful left-footer won the Dolphins' best-and-fairest this season while also securing a spot in the VFL Team of the Year.

Playing off halfback at Frankston, Voss has become one of the premier players in the league, with his lethal kicking skills a highlight.

Voss was reported to be close to being picked up by an AFL club during this year's mid-season draft, but no team came calling.

The 180cm Voss is the son of former AFL player Brett, who featured in 35 games for Brisbane (1997-2000) and 135 matches for St Kilda (2001-07).

The Dolphins star came through the Sandringham Dragons pathway system and was available for a father-son selection at St Kilda. However, the Saints passed on the opportunity in his draft year in 2019.

Hawthorn players Flynn Perez and Max Ramsden were delisted by the Hawks at the end of the season, but have also been offered train-on spots over the summer.

The Hawks will finalise their list spots and availability after the draft in November.
