Adelaide captain Rory Sloane has been handed a one-game suspension for a Contact to the Eye Region charge, while West Coast forward Willie Rioli has also been suspended by the Match Review Officer.

The incident involving Sloane and Fremantle's Blake Acres took place during the opening quarter of Sunday's match between the Crows and Dockers, with the Adelaide skipper's action on Acres being deemed Intentional Conduct, Low Impact and High Contact.

Sloane can accept a one-match ban with an early guilty plea, meaning he will miss his side's Round 2 clash with Collingwood should he accept.

Rioli has also been handed a one-game suspension for his high bump on Gold Coast's Matthew Rowell, with the premiership Eagle being charged with Rough Conduct.

The MRO have judged the incident in question as Careless Conduct, Medium Impact and High Contact, with Rioli able to accept a one-match ban with an early guilty plea.

A suspension will mean Rioli won't be available for his side's Round 2 clash with North Melbourne on Sunday.

Fremantle Caleb Serong (Striking) and Gold Coast's Wil Powell (Tripping) can accept $2000 and $1000 fines respectively for separate charges from the weekend.

Earlier in the week, Lion Mitch Robinson was handed a one-match suspension for his bump on Port Adelaide's Xavier Duursma, a penalty Brisbane have opted to challenge.

Essendon's Sam Draper and St Kilda's Dougal Howard have also been fined by the MRO for separate Round 1 incidents.
