Former Collingwood AFLW player Kate Sheahan has questioned whether Magpies AFLW coach Wayne Siekman is the right man for the job telling SENโs Whateley heโd be a โvery nervous man.โ
โThere was a huge amount of optimism through pre-season for these girls and rightly so. I went and watched them train and even I said, "Wow this looks better, a lot better,'" the Fox Footy commentator said.
โYouโve got Daniel Harford there, all of their line coaches were new this year, the only consistent was Wayne Siekman.
โTheyโre three rounds in, theyโre three losses and the hurt and pain the players felt after last weekโs loss was equal to that of what it was to Round 3 last year, so Iโm terrified to think of how these players are feeling.
"I donโt know how someone like that keeps their job when heโs working for the most powerful club in the land.โ
Sheahan questioned the positional changes of key personnel on the weekend against GWS, saying that were plenty of perplexing signs stemming form the loss yesterday.
โChloe Molloy has been the star of the show roundโs one and two playing in the backline, yesterday she started up forward. Jess Duffin, whoโs their best forward, started down back. To me, I donโt know why youโd change the two of them, they were comfortable where they were," she said.
โJess is going to kick goals sheโs a contested marking player, sheโs a beautiful user of the ball, no one else in that forward line is going to be able to deliver. Jasmine Garner, who they put up on a pedestal to say sheโs going to be our new forward, hasnโt touched it this year.
Sheahan has also questioned the form of the Collingwood girls, while coming into bat for her ex teammate Mo Hope who has copped constant criticism this season.
โMo Hope has been criticised ferociously for her lack of input yet yesterday she kicked two goals, had eight disposals, four marks.
"What about the heat on the other girls? Why are we not hearing about the other girls stepping up and not delivering?โ
The Magpies currently sit 0-3 and in last position in the ladder following a disappointing start of the season.
