Bombers key forward Peter Wright has claimed the 2022 Crichton Medal as Essendon's best and fairest this season.

The high-marking 26-year-old kicked 53 goals in his second season at The Hangar after being traded to Essendon by the Gold Coast Suns in late 2020.

Wright, who also claimed the Matthew Lloyd Leading Goal Kicker Award, finished fifth in the Coleman Medal standings in 2022, showcasing his accurate goalkicking and dominant contested marking throughout the season.

The sharp-shooting key position target, who nabbed 242 total votes, beat out 2021 Peter Crichton Medallist, Zach Merrett (230), and hard-runner Matt Guelfi (211).

Also emerging victorious at Crown Palladium on Monday night was rebounding defender Mason Redman, who snagged both the Bruce Heymanson Best Clubman and Most Improved Player awards, while first-year player Nic Martin took home the Lindsay Griffiths Rising Star honours.
