Shane Savage has extended his contract with the Saints.

The 24-year-old has extended his contract with the club until the end of the 2017 season.

He has now played 34 games with the Saints after crossing from Hawthorn at the end of 2013, for a career total of 90 senior games.

"Shane has become an important part of our team since arriving at the end of 2013," St Kilda chief operating officer Ameet Bains said.

"We identified him as someone who met our needs given his leg speed and ball use, and he has played some important roles for us at either end of the ground."
