West Coast needs three things to continue improving its list, according to WA journalist Digby Beacham.

The Eagles have secured four wins to this point of 2026, which is a quantum leap from last year's effort of one solitary victory.

But how do they keep improving? Who are some trade targets?

Beacham, speaking on Zero Hanger's The Outer Wing powered by TabTouch, gave some areas of correction for the club.

"There's some players who spring to mind. There's three things I think West Coast need," he said.

"They need key defenders, because at the moment we're seeing what happens when Harry Edwards, who is fronting the (AFL) concussion panel is not there, Reuben Ginbey is going to be missing for long term, is Tylar Young the answer? I'd say no. Sandy Brock has had a bit of a look at it. But they're short-changed down back. They need midfielders and they need to get in WA talent."

Sam Taylor

"Go ask the question of Sam Taylor at GWS.

"He's a WA boy. He's a high class individual and he's an elite talent.

"Where are GWS going? I know that he's always been very, very happy there with the Giants, but you don't know unless you ask.

"What we do see with the WA clubs is if they can attract that WA talent back, it is invariably a tick. We saw it with Fremantle. They were able to get Shai Bolton, Luke Jackson back. Jeremy Sharp was part of that, but he's very good friends with Luke Jackson, so it was quite clever.

"West Coast this year, you get Starcevich back, you get Deven Robertson back.

"I'd ask the question of Sam Taylor."
