Most AFL Superbru tippers got off to a strong start to the new season with an average of 6/9 correct outcomes in round one, however, round two has brought the majority back to earth with a bump.
The average correct outcome total slipped down to 3.5 last week following several upsets including wins for the North Melbourne Kangaroos and Port Adelaide.
Here, weโll be looking at how the crowd have tipped this weekโs games thus far, in order to provide you with some insight for your own round three tips.
Carlton vs. Collingwood
Tips made at Superbru at the time of writing suggest the round three opener will be quite tight in Melbourne, with a current 42/58% split in favour of Collingwood. Neither of these teams have registered a win in the opening two rounds of the season which perhaps explains the narrow average margin pick of Collingwood by three points.
Port Adelaide vs. Brisbane Lions
In stark contrast to that opener, this fixture is the most one-sided of the round in terms of tipping as 98% of players expect Port Adelaide to make it three from three in their season against a Lions side that is yet to win this campaign.
Melbourne vs. North Melbourne
68% of the Superbru community that have made their AFL picks expect Melbourne to pick up a victory here, with the average pick indicating a narrow win by six points. Both teams have won one and lost one so far in this campaign.
Gold Coast Suns vs. Fremantle
A fixture that looks to be relatively even on paper, thereโs currently a majority leaning towards a Gold Coast Suns win in Perth. Fremantle are fresh off a win over Essendon heading into this one, though only 34% of players are tipping them to inflict a first defeat of the season on the Gold Coast Suns.
Sydney Swans vs. GWS Giants
Will this be a first loss of the campaign for the Giants? 41% of tippers at Superbru believe so. The slight majority therefore believe GWS can pick up a win at the SCG but the average margin pick suggests this will be one of the closest battles of round three.
St. Kilda vs. Adelaide Crows
In what is one of the heavier majorities in the round, 75% of people at Superbru expect the Adelaide Crows to win at St Kilda this weekend. St Kildaโs heavy defeat at the hands of North Melbourne last time out perhaps explains a fair amount of that percentage.
Richmond vs. Hawthorn
This oneโs another very tight game that has split the Superbru crowd almost right down the middle. 54% have tipped Hawthorn to make it three from three for the season against Richmond, but this one could go either way!
Western Bulldogs vs. Essendon
77% of players expected the Bulldogs losing start to the campaign to continue in this round as they face Essendon. With the average margin pick sitting at 10 points in Essendonโs favour, tips at Superbru suggest this one should be relatively comfortable.
West Coast Eagles vs. Geelong Cats
Finally, the last fixture of the round is between two sides with a 50% win rate from their opening two, and is one of the tightest in terms of tips made so far. Thereโs slightly more people leaning towards the Cats, but with the split currently sitting at 47/53%, insight into what the crowd are thinking isnโt much help here!
