Round 8 was a tricky one last week as the average number of correct outcomes achieved by the Superbru crowd slipped to just over 5 out of 9. Major upsets included Port Adelaide’s win over Adelaide, Carlton’s victory over Essendon and Sydney’s win over Hawthorn.

As we look to get back on track, here we’ll be looking at what the majority of players are predicting at Superbru as things stand for each of this week’s Round 9 fixtures. This round includes a belter between the current joint leaders - Richmond and West Coast. Once you’ve read through the insights, be sure to head to our pool and submit your own.

They may have slipped up against Port Adelaide last week, but the Superbru tippers are keeping their faith in the Crows this week. 94% are tipping Adelaide to win this one despite the Bulldogs winning their last three games.

North Melbourne Kangaroos vs. GWS Giants

Both of these teams have won four from eight so far in this campaign but Superbru players tend to think the Kangaroos have this one in the bag with 75% of them tipping North Melbourne. The average taken from all tips saved so far suggests the winning margin will be eight points.

Gold Coast Suns vs. Port Adelaide

Just as last year, these two teams will be battling it out in China as the fixture takes place at the Jiangwan Stadium in Shanghai. In terms of the expected result, a strong 94% are backing Port Adelaide.

Essendon vs. Geelong Cats

This one is a no-brainer judging by Superbru tips. 97% are backing Geelong and plenty expect it to be by a heavy margin. The average margin pick currently stands at Geelong by 24 points.

Sydney Swans vs. Fremantle

The games with a heavy favourite just keep coming now until we reach the final match of the round as there are 94% backing Sydney to beat Fremantle at the SCG on Saturday. The Swans are of course coming into this one off the back of that impressive win over Hawthorn.

St Kilda vs. Collingwood

As you may expect, there never tends to be a large percentage of people backing St. Kilda to win and that is the case yet again this week. Just 7% expect them to beat Collingwood this weekend and the expected margin is a Collingwood win by 20 points.

Carlton vs. Melbourne

Carlton managed their first win of the season last week, but there aren’t many backing them make it two on the bounce! 95% have gone with Melbourne here who have won their last three on the spin.

Brisbane Lions vs. Hawthorn

Now the only team yet to win in this AFL campaign, don’t expect the percentage backing the Brisbane Lions to increase any time soon. 95% are tipping Hawthorn to win at the Gabba and the expected margin is a sizable 25 points.

West Coast Eagles vs. Richmond

Finally, the headline game of the round between West Coast and Richmond takes place on Sunday in Perth. It really could go either way with both teams winning seven out of eight so far this season but there is a majority of 72% backing West Coast to win. The average margin tip is currently standing at West Coast by six points.
