West Coast is reportedly weighing up a monster play that could force Carlton to spend all of its draft points on securing father-son prospect Harry Dean.

The Blues currently hold Picks 9, 11, 43, 54, 67, 72, 87, and 105, which equate to 2758 points, while the Eagles notably possess the first two selections of the 2025 draft.

It has been revealed by News Corp that the Western Australian club could bid on Dean as early as Pick 2, which would cost 2,233 points on the night (2,481 minus 248 (10 per cent)).

The son of premiership Blue Peter Dean's stock soared during a blistering National Championships for Vic Country, averaging 15 disposals and six marks, routinely intercepting opposition forward entries with his confidence to fly, and then showing a willingness to take the game on by foot.

He reads the high ball coming inside 50 early too, and innately understands when to peel off, float across, and either lay a spoil or take a big contested mark.

West Coast, who are deemed interested in the Vic Country star, would have their reasons for attempting to land the key defender following the recent departures of premiership stars Jeremy McGovern (retired) and Tom Barrass (Hawthorn).

Therefore, a bid at Pick 2 would all but swallow up the Blues' first-round selections, pushing their first pick into the second round.

The Eagles are also heavily linked to the talents of Willem Duursma and Cooper Duff-Tytler, and could force Gold Coast's hand on academy prospect Zeke Uwland as well.

In addition to Dean, the Blues are determined to make three additional selections in the national draft, with NGA prospect Jack Ison positioned as a draft target alongside Dean.

The 2025 National Draft will be held on November 19 and 20.

Carlton opened up some list spots after delisting contracted Jaxon Binns and Elijah Hollands, as well as Will White.

However, Hollands and White will be considered for pre-season train-on opportunities following the 2025 National Draft in November.

Calls on Flynn Young and Harry Charleson are yet to be confirmed by the club, although it is understood that the former has signed a one-year extension.

Mitch McGovern also penned a new deal worth 12 months after waiting nervously through the trade and free agency period.
