Richmond are reportedly set to select North Adelaide's Jacob Bauer in tonight's mid-season draft, per reports from Channel 7's Mitch Cleary.

Bauer, who has played six games in the SANFL this season, has piqued the interest of several AFL clubs. The 19-year-old was formerly part of the Swans' Academy, but went undrafted.

Kicking 16 goals this season, averaging nine disposals and five score involvements per game, Bauer is looming as a forward replacement for the ageing Jack Riewoldt down at Punt Road.

Reports suggest that GWS and Collingwood are also interested in the 19-year-old, but Cleary has reported that Tigers staff recently flew to Adelaide to meet the young forward.

"He's every chance to land in Richmond's forward line if he isn't snapped up by GWS and Collingwood earlier," Cleary said on 7 News.

"Tigers recruiters recently flew to Adelaide to meet with the 19-year-old.

"They're looking for extra firepower in attack with Jack Riewoldt potentially in his last year."

With the recent departures of Mabior Chol and Callum Coleman-Jones, and with their dominant forward Tom Lynch sidelined with a hamstring injury, the Tigers will be keen to bring some new talent into their forward lineup.

The mid-season draft gets underway at 6:30pm AEST (6:00pm ACST, 4:30pm AWST) on Wednesday, June 1.

Richmond currently holds pick 10.
