Richmond's forward stocks have been hit by the loss of second-year tall Jonty Faull.

He is set to miss the rest of the year with stress fractures in his back.

“This is a disappointing setback for Jonty, especially coming off a really strong month of performances,” Richmond Executive General Manager Livingstone said.

“He has worked incredibly hard throughout the season, however, we want to set him up for long-term success, and ruling him out for the season will ensure the best form of recovery.

“We know Jonty will attack his rehab with energy and professionalism, and the entire club will wrap our arms around him over the next period of time.”

Faull's injury comes with fellow tall forward Tom Sims still at least five weeks away, while Tom Lynch's return date is unknown as he continues his recovery from a throat injury.

It leaves Richmond's cupboard bare for tall forwards, with Mykelti Lefau set to shoulder the load of the goal-scoring, having played just 21 games, kicking 11 goals in his 10 outings this year.

Liam Fawcett looks an obvious player to come into the line-up, having kicked eight goals in five games this year, but he has struggled to keep his spot despite the Tigers' extensive injury list and amid Faull's fluctuating early-season form.

Leadership group member Jack Ross will remain unavailable for the Tigers this weekend as he continues to work his way through the concussion protocols.
