St Kilda is preparing a monster offer for GWS midfielder Stephen Coniglio, in the hope of bringing the 25-year-old to Moorabbin next season, according to foxsports.com.au.

Coniglio is currently on the wishlist of fellow Victorian clubs Hawthorn and Carlton, but the Saints' long-term, $1.4 million per season offer would currently set them apart from their rivals.

If the midfielder accepted the Saints' offer, he'd become one of the highest-paid players in the AFL in 2020.

Reports still believe the Giants are favourites to re-sign the star, with the club confident Coniglio puts pen to paper on a new deal before the season is up.

The Western Australian remains the hottest property this off-season, although is still a restricted free agent, meaning the Giants have the ability to match an offer from a rival club.

However, given their recent salary cap squeeze saw them lose Dylan Shiel and Tom Scully, the Giants would likely have to part ways with Coniglio if the Saints tabled their monster deal.
