Collingwood's Bobby Hill has impressed in his second game back at VFL level after a stint away from the game to deal with personal issues.
Playing for the Magpies against Box Hill, Hill booted three goals from seven disposals as he returns to match fitness and, hopefully, the big league in the near future.
The 2023 Norm Smith Medallist will be a crucial addition to Craig McRae's line up given the Magpies' clear need for more attacking options.
Hill's first game back was last weekend against Essendon when he collected 11 disposals and kicked one goal.
Collingwood has made significant steps forward in recent weeks in terms of its scoring, kicking 88, 137 and 93 in the club's last three fixtures.
However, the return of the 117 goals from 102 games Hill will be crucial as the Magpies hunt for September action, even with their ageing list.
Collingwood will continue to increase Hill's game time minutes as the weeks progress.
Young midfielder Ed Allan impressed for the Pies as he pushes for a recall into the senior team, collecting 28 disposals and kicking two goals. Meanwhile, 20-year-old key forward Charlie West booted two goals from his six disposals.
Collingwood's next fixture is against Geelong at the MCG on Saturday night for Round 9.
