Adelaide forward Mitch McGovern is set to play his last game for the club against the Blues on Saturday night, according to Sam McClure.

Earlier in the year, McClure was the first to report this speculation, but he now believes that the Crows' opposition is in the running to get McGovern.

“I think this will be Mitch McGovern’s last game with Adelaide,” McClure told SEN on Friday morning.

“I was pretty strong on it earlier in the year and I don’t think much has changed.

Carlton are one of the teams in the hunt, there’s no doubt about it.

“He makes sense, McGovern, playing as that third tall that they haven’t been able to get next to Harry McKay and Charlie Curnow.

“I’ll be very interested to know where he goes but I don’t think Mitch McGovern will be playing for Adelaide next year."

McGovern has kicked 15 goals in 11 games this season, as well as averaging 12.6 touches.
