Award winning AFL journalist Damian Barrett believes the race for Gold Coast spearhead Tom Lynch is down to just three teams, and the Suns aren't one of them.

Barrett believes Lynch won't re-sign with the Suns, and says Hawthorn are currently the favourites for the star forward next season.

The Triple M journalist says Richmond and Collingwood are also in the race for Lynch.

“There’s no one in footy who think he’s staying, guys, as we speak,” Barrett told Jars & Louie on Triple M.

“I see it as a race in three, and at this stage I’d have Hawthorn in front."

Lynch has played 127 games for the Suns since joining the club for their inaugural AFL season, and has kicked 248 goals in his career.
