Port Adelaide ruckman Billy Frampton has been linked with a shock move to foes Adelaide in this season's trade period.

The Power and Crows haven't done a trade deal in more than a decade, with Brad Symes leaving Alberton at the end of 2007 after 20 games to begin a five-year stint at West Lakes, adding 60 further caps.

But the 22-year-old tall is well behind in the pecking order at Port with Patrick Ryder and Scott Lycett ahead of him, though the former is said to be nominating a move to the Saints in the same timeframe.

Kane Cornes told AFL Trade Radio Monday evening, "I can tell you he (Frampton) will play for Adelaide next year."

"Port Adelaide and Adelaide will put their rivalry aside to try and broker a deal that would see Billy Frampton move from Port Adelaide to the Crows."

Frampton occasionally saw himself losing first-team places to Peter Ladhams as well, and has managed three AFL games including two in 2019.
