Suns co-captain Steven May is tipped to join Collingwood at the end of the season, according to AFL Media's Nick Bowen.

Despite being contracted at Gold Coast for 2019, there is a feeling that the club may push the reset button and trade the 26-year old for draft picks.

The Suns are already set to lose their other skipper, star forward Tom Lynch, who will return to Victoria as a free agent in October.

And while May has not indicated that he wants to depart the club, the gun defender has been linked to several Melbourne teams, including Collingwood.

“There’s a real sense from some people that Gold Coast really want to go back to the draft and start things over again,” Bowen told Trade Desk.

“Look, big mail that he’ll get to Collingwood. I had someone say to me last week that he’s a certainty.

“I wouldn’t pitch it quite that high, but I think he’ll be in Victoria … and my money at this stage will be on Collingwood.”
