Out-of-contract midfielder Josh Kelly is reportedly close to singing on with GWS, according to Channel 7's Mark Stevens.

The 24-year-old has received plenty of attention from Victorian clubs in season 2017, including what was an offered nine-year $10 million contract by North Melbourne.

Kelly singed a two-year extension with the Giants, coming out of contract this year.

Stevens has reported that an announcement from the Giants will happen following the club's clash with Richmond on Saturday.

Kelly, who was the no. 2 selection in the 2013 National Draft, has missed the opening two rounds of the season, but GWS coach Leon Cameron has confirmed that Kelly is a certain starter for the Round 3 clash.

"We expect Kelly to play his usual minutes. His fitness is in good shape and he'll play around the midfield like he always does" Cameron said when addressing the media during the week.
