After back to back 104-point losses, it doesn't come to anyone's surprise that Fremantle is in the market to shore up their defence, and it appears their first target is GWS defender Nathan Wilson.

Fox Sports' Jake Niall confirmed Freo's interest on AFL Tonight on Tuesday night before going on to say that they had spoken directly to GWS about Wilson.

Wilson is contracted until the end of the 2018 season however there is no doubting that GWS will want to lock up their breakaway defender long-term given his breakout year in 2017 that has seen him average 18 disposals and over four rebound 50s per game while ranking fourth in the league for metres gained.

Originally from Western Australia, there is belief among the Fremantle camp that if they wait until his contract runs out next year, he may want to head home.

Wilson is just another name of high profile Giants that remain out of contract in the near future with rival clubs circling.

Devon Smith, Jacob Hopper and Josh Kelly have all been courted by other clubs as the Giants look to lock in their future.
