Fringe Geelong forward Shane Kersten is set to undergo a medical at Fremantle this week, according to Perth radio station, 6PR.

The 23-year-old played 13 of the openign 14 games of the season, however, struggled to cement his spot in the side in the second half of the season, playing just four games in the Cats' final 10 games.

The West Australian, who appears certain to leave the Cats in search of regular first team football, has long been a key target of the Dockers, and is now their prime forward target this trade period following fellow West Aussie Rory Lobb's decision to re-sign with Greater Western Sydney.

Kersten has managed 37 games and 41 goals in five seasons at Geelong.
