Reports have emerged that Carlton and Sydney are close to finalising a deal involving former Hawks ruckman Marc Pittonet and Lions forward Lewis Taylor.

According to Riley Beveridge from AFL.com.au, Carlton will hand pick 48 to Sydney, in exchange for two later selections. They will then forward one of these onto Hawthorn in exchange for Pittonet.

Sydney is believed to be using pick 48 to lever the acquisition of Taylor from Brisbane.

Both deals are set to fall quickly after the 3pm window opens.

MORE TO COME.
