Adelaide forward Josh Jenkins could seek a trade back to Victoria at the end of the season if his stint in the SANFL continues, according to a report by the Herald Sun's Jon Ralph.
The 30-year old has spent the last few weeks in Adelaide's twos, booting six goals over the weekend as he looks for a senior recall.
Jenkins is contracted at the Crows until the end of 2022 and is happily living in Adelaide with wife Hannah and daughter Lottie.
However, a trade could be on the cards if he can't crack back into Don Pyke's best 22.
The Adelaide coach has not been afraid to drop senior players this season, with Jenkins and Bryce Gibbs both falling victim to the selection axe.
And there have even be calls for skipper Tex Walker to have a spell in the SANFL.
"I think just because you're captain doesn't mean you're immune to going back to the SANFL," former Saints great Nick Riewoldt told SEN.
"One thing that's really important in a football club is integrity of selection.
"If other players are falling into the category form-wise and effort-wise that don't meet the standards, well then everyone should be exposed to the same level of scrutiny and integrity in selecting the team."
Essendon legend Matthew Lloyd echoed Riewoldt's sentiments on Access All Areas .
"He's lucky he's the captain," Lloyd said.
"I'm saying that because Josh Jenkins went out, (Elliott) Himmelberg came in for his spot, Bryce Gibbs goes out, so he's not afraid to drop players.
"We're 10 games in, he's had six games of those 10 where he's kicked one or zero.
"He's played one good game against the Saints, the rest of them have been pretty mediocre from Tex Walker.
"I think it'll save him, because he's the captain, but his poor games are so bad and after being around for so long, it shouldn't be the case anymore."
The Crows make the trip to Darwin this Saturday night to face the Demons.
