Tuesday night is right around the corner for the 2026 Mid-Season AFL draft, with Essendon having the top pick.

Ahead of the draft, I take a look back at the 2025 Mid-Season draft and do a complete re-draft based on how the players are performing right now for their teams.

3Michael Sellwood (Pick 5)

After being a key part of the Dogs' 2025 VFL Premiership, the 22-year-old has been a handy mid-sized defender and has really found his stride in 2026, showcasing his skills on a high level.

Sellwood has been a pillar in defence in all 10 games thus far for the Dogs. His one-on-one defence and intercepting ability have been pretty solid for a rookie, but he also relies on his pressure acts. He has been a good tackler, and he really hangs his hat on his countless defensive efforts.
