With the 2020 season done and dusted, a new dynasty has been born in the form of the Tigers.

Winning the 2017, 2019 and 2020 premierships has meant that Damien Hardwick's side are now in rare air and will forever be remembered as one of most elite sides of all time.

But how do they stack up against the other dominant sides of the century? Are they better or worse than Brisbane, Geelong or Hawthorn?

1. Hawthorn (2013-2015)

Topping the list is Alastair Clarkson's Hawthorn side of the 2010's.

There is little splitting the Hawks from the Lions of the 2000's, but it was the presence of some of the all time greats such as Buddy Franklin, Luke Hodge, Cyril Rioli and Sam Mitchell amongst others that makes them top.

After winning their first flag in 17 years in 2008, the Hawks went four years without winning another.

They appeared in the 2012 Grand Final but went down to the Swans in a thriller, then went on an incredible streak of dominance.

The Hawks won the 2013, 2014 and 2015 premierships, with their aforementioned stars showing up when it counted.

When Lance Franklin left for Sydney in 2014, many thought that the Hawks wouldn't be able to retain the flag.

But through excellent coaching from Alastair Clarkson, the Hawks were able to keep their cool and go on to win the next two premierships, most notably in 2014 against Franklin's Swans.

Their dynasty came to an end in 2016 when they went down to the Dogs in a semi-final, marking the end of a remarkable period of pure dominance.
