With the 2020 season done and dusted, a new dynasty has been born in the form of the Tigers.

Winning the 2017, 2019 and 2020 premierships has meant that Damien Hardwick's side are now in rare air and will forever be remembered as one of most elite sides of all time.

But how do they stack up against the other dominant sides of the century? Are they better or worse than Brisbane, Geelong or Hawthorn?

Here are our current rankings...

2. Brisbane (2001-2003)

When people think of dynasties, the three-peat Brisbane side of the early 21st century instantly comes to mind.

Under the legendary guidance of Leigh Matthews, the Lions were an extremely dominant force with an incredible list.

Their midfield in particular was out of this world. Players like Voss, Black, and Akermanis oozed class and talent.

A forward-line including Alastair Lynch and Jonathan Brown also helped their cause immensely.

From the years 2001 to 2004, the Lions appeared in every grand final, and their worst finish on the ladder was 3rd in 2003.

Brisbane's incredible run came to an end in 2004 when they were beaten by the Power in the grand final.

If they did end up beating Port Adelaide, then there would be no doubt that the Lions would be the greatest side of the modern era, but it wasn't to be and for now they will have to settle for second.
