Ex-Collingwood player Brent Macaffer will join West Gippsland side Tooradin Dalmore FC in 2022.

Macaffer will be returning to Gippsland - where he was drafted from in the 2006 TAC Cup competition.

The 33-year-old retired from AFL football at the end of 2016 after playing 77 games and winning a premiership at Collingwood, which will make him a prized recruit for next season.

Over his career, Macaffer was used as a skilful inside midfielder for the Magpies, while showing an aptitude for run-with roles against opposition onballers.

His efforts in the 2013 season have been regarded as a career highlight, where he finished sixth in the Magpies' best and fairest.

Post-AFL, Macaffer quickly found a home at Nothern Football League side Eltham in 2018, and played 46 senior games across three seasons with the Panthers.

Earlier in the year, it was reported Macaffer's ex-Collingwood teammate Adam Oxley will also be at Tooradin Dalmore next season, as the Leader reporter Paul Amy reflects the excitement of the Gippsland local footy scene.

The senior side at Tooradin Dalmore were sitting third in the West Gippsland Football Competition when community sport was halted earlier this year.
