Giants forward Jeremy Finlayson could be headed for the exit door, according to SEN's Sam Edmund.

Finlayson, who was on the trade table two years ago, had recently made progress with contract talks with the club. But now Edmond reports those talks have stalled.

The Giants have uncovered a gem in young tall forward Jake Riccardi, who kicked four goals in the side's win 38 point over Fremantle on the weekend, as they look towards the future.

This means Finlayson could be forced out the door, also considering that the Giants also have Harry Himmelberg as a key tall forward option.

Jeremy Cameron is also out of contract at season's end, but it could be Finlayson who needs to find a new home given their tight salary cap situation.

Finlayson has played 49 games with the Giants, booting 63 goals - with his best season coming in 2019 when he kicked 44 goals.
