Melbourne is reportedly open to the idea of parting ways with superstar onballer Clayton Oliver to another club for the right price this off-season, with two clubs said to be keen on the midfielder.
Oliver emerged as a shock trade option earlier this week as rival clubs were understood to be weighing up moves to potentially attempt to pry the 26-year-old away from the Demons.
A report from AFL.com.au suggested there was no sign from Melbourne that the club was necessarily willing to move Oliver on, with other clubs instigating a potential move.
Now, according to an SEN report, the Demons are said to be open to listening to trade offers for Oliver despite his contract status for 2030.
Oliver, a four-time best and fairest winner and two-time AFLCA Champion Player of the Year, is viewed as one of the premier players of the competition and would likely demand an extraordinary offering for the Demons to accept a trade.
Oliver too would need to be open to a move away from Melbourne, which he has called home since 2015.
The report suggests Melbourne are keen to make a move for West Coast's Pick 1 selection this trade period and could strengthen their hand by trading on Oliver.
A demand for multiple first-round picks would likely be a start in any negotiations between Melbourne and an interested suitor, with Adelaide and Essendon identified as two clubs that could come calling.
Speaking on Trade Radio on Wednesday, reporter Tom Morris said the Crows and Bombers are keen on the star Demon.
"I'm prepared to say now that Adelaide and Essendon are two clubs that have shown more than just a passing interest in Clayton Oliver," Morris revealed.

The 2023 trade period will open on Monday and will run until Wednesday, October 18.
