Former North Melbourne captain Jy Simpkin said he'd prefer to have kept up his social media post questioning the Tribunal's decision to uphold teammate Paul Curtis' three-week ban last week.
Curtis was slapped with another suspension following a contentious tackle, which drew criticism from the football landscape.
Simpkin, in a three-story post, compared Mabior Chol's preliminary final tackle on Tom Stewart with Curtis', acknowledging the different outcomes from the Tribunal.
He followed it up by saying: "The AFL needs to get it together, the constant rule changes and the MRO is laughable. Players don't know what they can and can't do anymore. Just hope for the best each week."
Speaking just days being warned by the AFL, ultimately leading to his deleted post, Simpkin said he would have kept it up.
"I'll let it be for now," he said on to going to the AFL for further questions on ABC.

"I had my time on social media and I'll let it go for now. No (I do not regret it). Not at all.
"If I had it my way, I would have kept it up."
Simpkin was also quizzed on the current state of umpiring in the AFL, suggesting the umpires are copping an unfair whack.
"There is a lot of times when you're running around out there and you've got to stop and like 'Who's free kick actually is it?' before you start running in any direction," he answered.
"But you know, it's not the umpire's fault. It's the AFL and the rules and everything. It's very hard to judge, especially for the umpires.
"I feel sorry for them at times out there."
