North Melbourne have confirmed duo Sophie Abbatangelo and Grace Matser have not been offered new contracts for the 2023 season.

On Tuesday the club announced the list decisions, seeing an end to Abbatangelo's five-year stint at Arden Street.

The veteran forward booted 29 goals from her 42 appearances for the Roos, who she joined in 2018 for North Melbourne's maiden season in the AFLW.

Matser leaves the Kangaroos after one season with the club and without a senior appearance to her name.

The teenager joined the club as a talented ruck out of Collingwood's reserves and the Gippsland Power as the 51st selection in the June intake.

“We thank Sophie and Grace for their contributions to our club, these decisions are never easy or taken lightly,”  North Melbourne AFLW football boss Nathan Hrovat said in a club statement.

“A member of our inaugural AFLW team, Sophie and her family have played a big part of the club's AFLW journey and we thank them for their contribution.

“Whilst with us for only a short time, Grace demonstrated a great attitude and commitment to her football. We wish Grace all the best for her future.”

North Melbourne managed an eighth-place finish to their Season Seven campaign before bowing out through a preliminary final loss to eventual premiers Melbourne.
