Fremantle have confirmed that Nat Fyfe is looming as a potential inclusion for Round 8, with the 31-year-old having failed to play a game since Round 1.

Fyfe has been sidelined with a foot injury after making his move forward during the pre-season, with the struggling Dockers keen to welcome back the Brownlow medallist to the side.

Fremantle's high performance manager, Phil Merriman, said the club's plan was for Fyfe to return to football this weekend, through the AFL or WAFL.

โ€œNat's foot pulled up really well from a step up on the weekend,โ€ Merriman said.

โ€œHe will be main training this week, with a plan for him to play football this weekend.โ€

The club also confirmed that defender Heath Chapman has faced a further setback on his return from a calf injury, now facing more time on the sidelines after injuring his hamstring at training.

โ€œUnfortunately for Chappy, at the back end of last week's training session he had an incident and it ended up being a moderate to high-grade hamstring injury,โ€ Merriman said.

โ€œHe will be out for an extended period of time, but be sure that Chappy will be ticking every box along the way.โ€

Meanwhile, Michael Frederick is also a chance to feature against Hawthorn after recovering from an adductor issue, set to face a test to play in the Saturday night clash, while both Liam Henry and Max Knobel are expected to play.

โ€œHe has come along really well, probably a little bit quicker than expected,โ€ Merriman said.

โ€œHe will train on Wednesday and be a test to play.

โ€œLiam and Max moved through the protocols really well, we plan for them to play this weekend.

โ€œWe are really excited to get Trav back, he will get through the next week of training, and we'll plan for him to play in one week's time.โ€

Fremantle, who are currently sitting 14th on the AFL ladder, will face the Hawks at Optus Stadium on Saturday, May 6.
