Round 16 of the VFL is in the books, and poor discipline will necessitate further time away from AFL action for a few players attempting to earn their way back to their club's senior sides.
North Melbourne's Wil Dawson was handed two matches, which can be reduced to one with an early plea, for striking fellow AFL-listed player, Collingwood's great white hope, Charlie West.
A strike deemed intentional conduct, medium impact and body contact, delivered in the fourth quarter of his side's big loss at the hands of the Pies, will push Dawson out of contention for a senior call-up for at least another week.
Footscray's Ryan Gardner was handed the same sanction, for the same act, after he struck Frankston's Noah Gown in the second quarter of the Bulldogs' home loss at the hands of the Dolphins.
North Melbourne’s Wil Dawson (striking), Western Bulldogs’ Ryan Gardner (striking) and Hawthorn’s Max Ramsden (high bump) can all accept one-game bans for incidents in the VFL.

Hawthorn's Max Ramsden, while representing Box Hill, caught Carlton's Harry Charleson with a high bump. His act was deemed careless, high and of medium impact, seeing him offered a two-match ban, which can be reduced to one with an early plea.

Swans Riley Bice and Malcolm Rosas were each handed a $300 fine for striking and careless umpire contact, respectively.
