Western Jets defender Noah McMenamin is set to line up for Collingwood's VFL side on Friday against Sydney.

It's understood McMenamin has attracted Mid-Season Draft interest from multiple clubs including Collingwood after a standout start to the season as a reliable interceptor.

He lined up in the two-game Young Guns series and has shown his marking ability and competitiveness at Talent League level in the early part of the season.

"He's shut down every key forward he's played on and has become a very consistent key back who is hard to beat and reads the play well to take his marks," Western Jets Talent Lead Reuben William told Zero Hanger a fortnight ago.

McMenamin has a background in high jump and has impressed with his ability to launch for the footy.

He took eight intercept marks in a half against Tasmania Devils which was the highlight of a standout start to the season.

Behind Sandringham Dragons forward Ollie Griffin, McMenamin is viewed as the best prospect in the Talent League.

In other Mid-Season Draft news, West Adelaide ruck Caleb May is widely expected to have his name called out at the intake on May 26, with West Coast among several clubs interested.

Composed left footer Oliver Francou, the son of former Port Adelaide player Josh, ruck Alex Van Wyk and former Power player Tom Scully are other South Australians on the radar of clubs.

Tasmanian Jaxon Artemis is expected to be selected, with a 27-disposal, one-goal performance against Werribee on Saturday the latest in a catalogue of impressive early-season VFL performances.

His Devils teammates Jed Hagan and Max Mapley also have multiple suitors.

Consistent Geelong VFL performer Marcus Herbert has interest from six clubs including Richmond, long-kicking Frankston defender Jackson Voss has been linked to several clubs including Melbourne. Voss' teammate Harrison Coe, a ruck, is also in conversations.

St Kilda has been most closely linked with 20-year-old Coburg defender Tom Barnett, who continues to impress with his competitiveness early in the VFL season after being added to the club's list midway through last season.

There is also peripheral interest from Geelong and Collingwood for Richmond VFL's Sam Toner, who has four bags of three goals or more this season after narrowly missing at the 2024 AFL National Draft.

At this stage, the Tigers are expected to take one selection.

Melbourne are understood to be in the market for a ruck with Tom Campbell expected to retire, with North VFL's James Tarrant among the names to have been linked.

Tarrant's VFL teammate Xavier Bamert has missed the past two games with what is understood to be a very minor finger injury, prompting speculation he has been told by a club to sit out until the Mid-Season Draft.
