Melbourne superstar Kysaiah Pickett is reportedly set for a massive payday, as it was reported that the Demons are prepared to offer a seven-year extension, totalling $12.5 million over nine seasons, taking him until the end of 2034.

Pickett is currently contracted for another two seasons, and in spite of the efforts from Fremantle to lure him back to his home state, the Demons have put forward a desperate plea to retain the small forward.

The annual narrative of the 24-year-old's return home hit an all-time high when it was revealed he'd exchanged texts with Dockers players, and some of his closest friends, including Quinton Narkle and Isaiah Dudley.

Speaking on Fox Footy'sย Midweek Tackle, journalist Jon Ralph expanded on the details of the deal.

"(It could) potentially be the biggest contract by figure as well," Ralph said.

"A new nine-year deal for Kozzy is highly likely to be signed in coming days. There's a couple of โ€˜tin tacks', but I tell you what, Melbourne would be saying: โ€˜We'll do whatever you want to get this deal done.

"$1.4 million a year, $12.5m in total โ€” right now, Clayton Oliver's on $1.7m through to 2030, Christian Petracca really similar.

"They have money in their salary cap โ€ฆ I think it's a brilliant deal, and it will happen in coming days."

As it stands, the deal would be the longest in the competition, although Gold Coast utility Mac Andrew could join him to 2034, pending he hits certain triggers in his original contract.

Ralph insinuated that any deal for Pickett to leave Melbourne would not involve former teammate and star ruckman Luke Jackson.

Pickett's form in 2025 has been breathtaking after taking a more prominent role in the midfield.

He is averaging a career-best 19 disposals, 2.1 goals, 3.5 marks, 3.8 clearances and 4.2 inside 50s.

On two occasions, Pickett has slotted five goals and recorded 24 touches in victories over Fremantle (Round 6) and Sydney (Round 11), while his latest performance in the King's Birthday clash was outstanding.
