Melbourne defender Christian Salem has signed a one-year extension to stay at the club for 2027.
The 31-year-old has played 208 games for Melbourne since being taken with Pick 9 in the 2013 National Draft.
Salem played nine games for the Demons in 2026.
Demons list manager said the club was eager for a player of Salem's experience to stay on and guide Melbourne's emerging talent.
“We are super excited to have Christian sign on for another year,” Lamb said.
“Christian is a premiership player and someone who is highly valued within our four walls.
“He's had an interrupted season in 2026, but we have great belief in Christian's ability to put in a strong pre-season and be a real asset for us in 2027.”
Salem was an integral part of Melbourne's 2021 premiership side.
He will be hoping to play a bigger role under new coach Steven King in 2027.
The trusty and skilful defender struggled with injury problems this season including foot injury and thyroid issues.
Melbourne has made a slew of changes to its list for next season with Tom Campbell (retired), Jack Henderson (delisted), Aidan Johnson (delisted), Shane McAdam (retired), Tom McDonald (retired), Jake Melksham (retired), Andy Moniz-Wakefield (delisted), Riley Onley (delisted) and Kalani White (delisted) all departing the club.
