Collingwood president Eddie McGuire didn't hide his desire for Dustin Martin to become a Pie in 2018 on radio on Monday morning, but did concede that he believes the Tiger will sign on and remain at Richmond.

On Triple M's Saturday Rub, Channel 7 commentator Brian Taylor said he heard rumblings around the league that two Melbourne clubs had offered Martin a contract of around $1 million, and eventually revealed one of the clubs to be Collingwood.

"There is a guy - he's probably the most dynamic footballer in Australia at the moment," Taylor said of Martin over the weekend.

"(There has been) two offers from two big clubs in Melbourne - around the one million mark."

When Richmond tragic and The Hot Breakfast co-host Mick Molloy heard the news, he decided to question his fellow host about the information.

"Can you confirm or deny?" asked Molloy, as Eddie replied with "Deny."

"What are you denying; it’s a million dollars?"

"No, it's one point two," McGuire joked.

"Don’t get sucked into this stuff. Relax, will you?" McGuire said.

"He’s played one good game, he’s a great player. He’s still at Richmond.

"He’s a wonderful player, I’d love to have him at Collingwood, but I’m tipping he’ll sign at Richmond."
