Herald Sun journalist Mark Robinson has revealed his top 50 AFL players of the 2020 season.

To no great surprise Richmond's Dustin Martin tops the list following his dominant finals series, culminating in a historic third Norm Smith Medal in the premiership decider.

Brisbane's Lachie Neale comes in second after his Brownlow Medal campaign, claiming 31 votes in just an 18-round campaign.

At 32 years of age Tom Hawkins had a career-best season to win his maiden Coleman Medal and is Robinson's third best player of the year.

Rounding out Robinson's top five is Melbourne's Christian Petracca and Port Adelaide's Travis Boak, who both made the podium of the Brownlow.

Geelong's Patrick Dangerfield, West Coast's Nic Naitanui, Western Bulldogs' Marcus Bontempelli, St Kilda's Jack Steele and Brisbane's Harris Andrews round out the the top 10.
