Embattled St Kilda midfielder Dan Hannebery has landed in Munich, Germany in hopes of resolving his persistent soft tissue ailments and getting back on the footy field.

Hannebery is reportedly scheduled to meet with renowned soft tissue expert Hans-Wilhelm Muller-Wohlfahrt in an attempt to resurrect his career.

Muller-Wohlfarht has dealt with AFL players in the past, including the likes of Collingwood superstar Jordan De Goey and Richmond co-captain Dylan Grimes.

Hannebery, who has appeared in just 15 games since arriving at Moorabbin from the Sydney Swans at the end of 2018, was forced to have calf surgery in March and has not played a game this season after managing just two appearances in 2021.

The 31-year-old signed a five-year contract with the Saints in 2018 supposedly worth $800,000 per year but has not been able to live up to lofty expectations.

The Swans premiership player's best season came in 2015 when he averaged 30 disposals, four marks, five tackles and 4.5 clearances per game and was selected to the All-Australian team.

As things currently stand, St Kilda's injury report doesn't have a timetable for Hannebery's return.
