Dockers midfielder Harley Bennell has suffered a fresh injury setback while playing for Peel Thunder in the WAFL on Sunday.

The injury prone 25-year old felt tightness in the same calf that has given him so many troubles in recent times, after playing three consecutive games unscathed in the WAFL.

The former Sun did not return to the game after quarter time, while the extent of the injury will be confirmed in the coming days.

Bennell has only played two games since crossing over to Fremantle in 2015, being burdened by a host of injuries and off-field issues.

He is set to come out of contract at the end of the season.
