Former Carlton and GWS defender Lachie Plowman has signed with EDFL side Maribyrnong Park for next season.
A former top-three draft selection, the 29-year-old has signed with the Lions after deciding to hang up the boots in the AFL.
Plowman played 125 games for the Blues over eight seasons, adding to his 20 matches as a Giant after joining the New South Wales club through the 2012 National Draft.
The medium-sized defender managed just one game under Michael Voss this year before announcing his retirement, concluding a decade-long career in the top flight.
Plowman has since been unveiled as Maribyrnong Park's latest off-season signing ahead of the new year, with the club expressing its delight with the former Giant and Blue's decision to join the Lions.
"Big Announcement! Welcome to the Lion's Den - Lachie Plowman," a club statement read.
"Lachie comes to Marby Park after playing at Carlton Football Club. Drafted at pick no 3. Lachie's AFL career spanned 11 seasons at Carlton and GWS playing a total of 145 AFL games.
"Lachie is a hard running defender and will be a tremendous asset to the younger players at our club. It's a very exciting time to be joining our club."
Plowman joins former Collingwood and Fremantle star Brodie Holland at the Lions, with the recently departed Northern Bullants coach taking on the leading role at Maribyrnong Park for 2024 after a difficult year in the VFL at Kramer Street.
Holland returns to Maribyrnong Park as a two-time premiership player and coach of the Lions, while he was also the coach of Western Region Football club Caroline Springs before his move to the Bullants.
The Lions amassed just one win this year to finish last on the Premier Division ladder.
